Greek Shield

John emailed this to me - I think he has done a fantastic job and he is definitely getting ready for our Greek Day.

This is the Greek shield that I made with Dad and painted with Mum.
I made the shape myself. I drew the pattern onto a piece of paper and then cut it out and stuck it onto the wood and drew around it. Then I used Dad's jigsaw to cut it out. For the handle, I cut blocks of wood and used a bit and brace to make holes in the blocks for the poles to go through and then screwed the handle onto the shield.
Then Dad painted it black for me.
I found a design I liked in a Greek warrior book, I pencilled the design onto the shield, and Mum helped me paint it on.
I'm really proud of it.

Postcard from Zoe

Today we received a post card from Zoe. She has been to visit the Grand Canyon she told us it 6,000 feet deep. We thought it would take a long time to reach the bottom.

We wanted to say thanks for sending us the postcard and we hope she is having a good time. We thought we would try a quick movie and hope she is looking at the blog.

Writing

On Monday we were writing about how the sheep must be feeling out in the rain! Especially the rain that hasn't stopped.
Zayden went home and did some more writing.

Its been raining for the past 2 days now. I am soaking wet from the raindrops and it is making me shiver.  I am going to huddle together with my friends to keep warm.  Look! Here comes the manager, we are getting shifted to shelter.  We are much warmer now which is good because it is nearly dark.

Sam's Dog Hero Story and Rocket Comic

Sam has been very busy crafting for homework.

Dog Hero and the Crazy Parrot

One day Dog Hero was walking in his garden and he saw a mean boy snatch some bread from a crazy parrot. So the parrot nipped him.
The boy began to grow into a dragon. It ate everything in sight. It ate and drank. The police came, and it ate them up.
Then Dog Hero came with an Avro Lancaster and bombed him. The dragon exploded and where the dragon was there stood the boy and he was a nice boy.
Hooray for Dog Hero.

My Rocket Comic

Ellie's Homework

Dear Lauren Boyle
I woke up one morning excited to know that you were in the finals for swimming.  It was important to eat my breakfast fast as Mum wouldn’t let me turn on the TV till I was ready for school.  This meant the chickens had to be done, my hair had to be done, all before 7.07 am.
Finally I could turn on the TV and there you were coming out in your grey tracksuit with the New Zealand fern standing out for everyone to see.  I can’t imagine how nervous you were because I was feeling nervous for you.  Suddenly the starter went bang, off you dived.  Mum kept on asking me what lane is the New Zealand girl in.  I was getting fed up with Mum because I had to keep telling her lane 6, lane 6.  I was so proud that you got into the final and tried you best.  GO NEW ZEALAND, GO!
